5. Feed the target your ideas

After you have successfully managed to isolate your target from his/her social life, you can now proceed on to feed your ideas to their mind. This will be quite easy by now since the target has no option and relies on you as the only ‘friend’ for advice and help.

Brainwashing Trick #3: Guilt Inducing

Inducing guilt in your target is another way of brainwashing them. So, what is guilt? It is both an emotional and cognitive experience which occurs when someone believes or realizes that he/she has gone against their own standards of conduct or has gone against/violated a moral standard. Guilt can be experienced about something that one did or did not actually do. The feeling is quite unpleasant and some people do not feel settled at all until they either admit or apologize for the mistake.

Creating guilt in your subject can really break him or her emotionally. This technique involves pointing out how evil or bad your target is. For instance, in the Korean war, the captors would make the American Soldiers feel guilty by pointing the evil done by them by taking up a career of murder. The captors would continually talk about the issue pointing all the atrocities of being a soldier in aim of creating a deep feeling of guilt and shame for their actions.

They did not only exaggerate some of the biggest or most gruesome wrongdoing of the captured soldiers but also criticized every aspect of their life as being bad including the way they sleep, breathe and even eat. The captors would tell the soldiers that all their characters were evil and only the devil would be in a position to behave in such a way.

The technique has also been used in churches especially in recent years. You often find that some preachers usually use some parts of the Bible to obtain money from their members. They make their members feel guilty by not giving.

To use this technique, you must be very good and convincing, since the way you talk will determine whether you are able to influence the target. It requires a great level of expertise since your target will be well aware of what you are trying to do.
